We have a heartwarming story this week from one of our staff members, Regina, that we hope will bless you as much as it did us!
“A sweet little girl named Emma came up to me while I was lifeguarding and said, ‘Lifeguard Regina, I heard that you were a rancher here when you were a little girl and now you work here all the time. I want to be just like you someday!’ She then saluted me and said, ‘Thank you for your service.’ I didn’t get the chance to see her off and say goodbye at the end of the week and I was pretty bummed. However, when I went to greet a car in our driveway late that day, there she was! Her older brother was wearing his team leaders’ watch and her mom noticed it after they had left so they came back to return it. I got to share with her mom how her daughter had blessed my heart and Emma confidently told her mom that she wanted to be a lifeguard at The Ranch just like me someday. We snapped this pic together afterwards. I can hardly wait to see her on staff!”
To give you a little backstory, Regina was in our programs as a rancher and young leader and later became the Women’s Director for our summer programs. She now works on full time staff as our Program Coordinator. We are so grateful for the work she does here and the 20+ years she’s been involved with Wildwood. It’s so cool to see how our ranchers now get to look up to and learn from Regina and aspire to not just receive from our programs but give back and invest in others’ lives with their future, just like Regina is doing.
“Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.”
